The starting motor is an electric motor that uses gear transmission to shake or start the engine. The starting motor has the characteristics of wide application, simple structure, convenient operation, easy maintenance, and low cost. It is currently widely used in diesel engines. This starter is a turbo-type motor that drives a small ring gear through a piston inside. Thereby driving the diesel engine to rotate. Of course, this kind of starting device also includes pressure reducing valve, starting solenoid valve and other equipment. 1. The starter can't rotate There are many reasons for its occurrence, not only related to its own technical status, but also related to the storage of batteries and the connection of wires. Generally, the elimination method is used to first judge the location of the fault: (1)Honk the horn. The following situations may occur: the horn does not sound, indicating that the circuit is blocked. The reasons are: the battery pile is corroded, oxidized, or the wire clamp is off; or the main electromagnetic switch is damaged; or the fuse is burned out; the sound is very small, indicating that the battery is defective or the contact is poor; the sound is loud, but the start switch is turned on, and the electromagnetic switch is not engaged Sound indicates that the starting switch circuit is not connected, such as poor contact, disconnection, open circuit or short circuit of the electromagnetic switch, and the electromagnetic switch has a sound of engagement, then the fault is inside the motor. (2)Use a screwdriver to short-circuit the two terminals of the electromagnetic switch, the following situations may occur. If the starter rotates immediately, it means that the moving contact plate and the static contact are in poor contact or the moving contact plate is deformed or damaged; the starter does not rotate but there are tiny sparks, which means that the internal contact of the starter is bad, such as dirty commutator and brush contact. Small area or weak spring, etc.; the starter does not rotate but there are strong sparks, indicating that there is a serious short circuit inside, and the starter does not rotate or sparks, indicating that there are open circuits inside, such as electric brush stuck, spring broken, etc. 2. Weak starter The possible reasons are: (1) battery power loss, (2) poor contact of the starting circuit, (3) slip of the one-way clutch. (4) The drive gear or flywheel ring gear is damaged or the flywheel ring gear is loose. (5) The armature rubs against the magnetic field, such as excessive bearing wear and bending of the armature shaft. 3. Cannot join with top teeth The possible reasons are: (1) the drive gear and flywheel ring gear are severely worn or have "curling"; (2) the armature shaft is not parallel to the center line of the flywheel, such as the installation is skewed, the fixing screw is loose or the armature shaft is bent.
